The town of Cala Ratjada located in the northeast of Mallorca has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island making it one of the best places to visit on a holiday route through Mallorca. Whether you are just passing through or you decide to stay here, in this article we will recommend some restaurants to enjoy the local gastronomy without going broke trying.

One of the things to take into account when eating in Cala Ratjada is that the prices can be high and the good options are not very plentiful as it is a popular tourist area for Germans, it is full of restaurants with schnitzel y currywrust!

However, that's what we are here for, to recommend you the best restaurants where you can find eat well and cheaply in Cala Ratjada. Los Arcos Restaurant

This restaurant in Mediterranean food is one of the most recommended places to eat in Cala Ratjada. They make food of all the life and they work with local ingredients some of them coming from his own orchard.

They have a fairly extensive menu with seafood, fish, meat and paella options. We tried a ration of baby squid and a chicken brochette with vegetables, which, although tasty, are not the best dishes we have tasted (the fried fish from Andalusia is hard to beat). Still, it is one of the best restaurants we tried in Cala Ratjada. The ingredients were fresh and we were left wanting to try some of their paellas which the güiris ordered non-stop for dinner.

The place has a quiet atmosphere, a little away from the center of Cala Ratjada, and it has a terrace with a very neat decoration. As for the price, the average per person ranges between the 30 euros which is not bad considering the prices and the quality of the restaurants in Cala Ratjada.

2. Sa Trobada

This small restaurant is one of the best places to eat in Cala Ratjada. It is a family restaurant that serves homemade Mediterranean food with Mallorca specialties.

When we went we were quite hungry and over ordered a bit, but the truth is that we loved everything we ate:

• Tapa de ensaladilla rusa was correct, perhaps it was what surprised us the least.
• The pa amb oli with sobrasada is a very large portion and super tasty, we liked it very much.
• Tapa of meatballs with tomato, very tasty.
• Ration of scrambled eggs with ham, a simple dish, but with a lot of flavor as the ham was sautéed with garlic.

Sa Trobada is located in a quiet corner of Cala Ratjada, and it has a terrace where you can enjoy your meal in the open air. They have a menu of the day for 12 euros but if you prefer to order à la carte, the average price per person will be about 25€ eating in abundance.

3. La Favola Pizzeria & Focacceria

If you have a craving for pizza during your stay in Cala Ratjada, we recommend you to taste La Favola Pizzeria & Focacceria. This small Italian restaurant specializes in pizzas and focaccias and it is one of the best restaurants to eat at cheap in Cala Ratjada.

We tasted two pizzas to share: La Diavola is a pizza with spicy salami, black olives and onion, perfect for lovers of intense flavors. We also tried the pizza Tonno with tuna, onion and cheese. Quite simple and correct. They are not the best pizzas you will ever try, but they are one of the best options for dinner in Cala Ratjada after a day of sightseeing around the island.

The ambience of the premises is pleasant and they have a terrace where you are very comfortable. Of course, you have to go early or wait a bit to find a place, as it is quite small. The average price per person is 15€, which makes it one of the best restaurants to eat well and cheaply in Cala Ratjada.

4. Horn

The restaurant Claxon, located in one of the most central streets, is one of the best places to eat cheaply in Cala Ratjada. It is a local of fast food where they serve hamburgers, sandwiches and some mixed dishes.

We tested the Claxon hamburgers The burgers are small, but they are good for the price. They come with bacon, cheese and salad, and although they are not the best burgers we have tried, they do the job. We also ordered a portion of potato chips to accompany.

The atmosphere of the place is simple and casual, and they have a pleasant terrace. As for the average price per person, it is between 10-15€ which is quite economical. In short, if you are looking for a quick and economical option to eat in Cala Ratjada, Claxon Restaurant can be a good alternative.

5. Pizarro Cafeteria

This simple tapas bar quite frequented by the Spaniards of Cala Ratjada. They have a wide menu of caps meat, fish or vegetable dishes, and they also have a good selection of sandwiches y hamburgers. The house specialty is the Pizarro breakfasts with a selection of cold cuts, cheese, eggs, bacon and coffee.

You can eat very well from snacking and a very good price but don't expect spectacular quality. We tried the aioli potatoes, a sandwich and ham croquettes. The average price per person is 10-15€.

6. Oleo's

Family restaurant in Mediterranean food specializing in rice y fish with a varied menu depending on the season. They have a short menu of homemade food where the speciality is the paellas. It is a little outside the tourist area and is quite frequented by locals.

Undoubtedly if you go to this restaurant you can not leave without trying their paellas, very rich and abundant mixed paella that we tasted. Also tasty are their garlic shrimp. The attention is 10 by the owners and the value for money is unbeatable. We are looking forward to trying their homemade desserts which also looked great. The average price is 25 per person.  

7. The fusion house

Restaurant of asian fusion food that uses fresh and seasonal products to incorporate into their dishes. The menu has options for all tastes: sushi both meat and fish, ramen for the cold days, and main dishes such as the tonkatsu.

We tested the katsudon the vegetable and shrimp tempura and the TUNA TARTAR. Everything was spectacular.

They have a modern facility with a very neat decoration and it is a restaurant that we recommend for a special occasion, since it is not the best option if you want to eat cheaply. Special mention should be made of its outdoor patio A charming place, perfect for a dinner with your partner. The average price here is around 40-50€ per person.  

8. Sonora beach (Colonia de San Pedro)

This restaurant in Mediterranean food with a touch of fusion is one of the best restaurants we tried in Mallorca. Everything we tried was delicious and the truth is that it would be a restaurant to repeat on a second visit. In the menu they have different pasta dishes, woks, rice meats and fish ember.

We will tell you about the dishes we tried, which was more than enough for two people:

• Hummus trio: sobrasada hummus (very good), pea hummus and regular hummus.
• Sirloin Wok. Very tasty, it had large pieces of sirloin steak and plenty of vegetables.
• Squid rabas. Coated in an original way with satai powder and accompanied by an aioli that was finger-licking good.

It is the perfect place to dine while watching the sunset The view of the sun setting over Cape Formentor is spectacular. Its terrace is located on the seafront, which gives it a special and romantic charm. The average price per person is 25€ per person.
