Best beaches Costa Smeralda

The Emerald Coast Sardinia is one of the most famous areas of the island for beach tourism. The most famous villages that make up the coastline are Arzachena, Olbia, Porto Cervo, Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli y Romazzino.

Around these towns you will find paradisiacal beaches and dreamy places, some of them we have marked below in the map of the Costa Smeralda and the gulf of Orosei. If you are going to spend a few days on the island do not miss our guides to know:

1. Principe Beach or Spiaggia del Principe

The prince's beach o Spiaggia del príncipe is, from our point of view, one of the most special beaches in the area. The access is easy but you will have to walk about 10 or 15 minutes from the moment you park your car until you reach the sand, although the walk is very short. To park, you can leave your car in a parking lot at the entrance of the urbanization that surrounds the beach or leave it on the shoulder of the road where you will surely see many other cars.

It has very clear waters and near the rocks on the sides of the cove you can do the following activities snorkel and enjoy the amount of fish in the water. We recommend you to bring something to eat if you plan to spend the day there because there is nothing but street vendors selling drinks.

2. Spiaggia dell'Elefante or Elephant Beach

The Elephant beach has recently become very famous in social networks thanks to the rocks located in half of the water that are shaped like this characteristic animal. The water and sand of this beach is spectacular, as in most beaches in Sardinia but we recommend it as a curious visit.

Access on foot is quite difficult because you have to cross several rocky areas and at some point we even found barbed wire. According to what we were told, the owners of the house in the photo are trying to make a private beach that is not.

The easiest way to get there is by kayak, paddle surf or by boat from the Celvia beach although it is also possible to swim or snorkel quietly.

3. Brandinchi Cove

The Brandinchi Cove also known as the Italian Tahiti, is located on the northeast coast of Sardinia. It is one of the most beautiful coves of the island and has a variety of services, such as rental of sunbeds and umbrellas. There is also a restaurant area and a playground for children.

4. Capriccioli Beach

We arrived at one of the smallest coves on the list, but also full of charm. The beach or Capriccioli cove is very frequented by tourists, especially in high season, it is difficult to get a place on the sand, so if you do not early riser You will probably be in a rocky area that surrounds the beach. The water of the cove is beautiful, very clear and with many fish, as in most of the coves in the area.

The beach has parking although it is fee-based, close to 10€ per day. Once there, if you can't find a spot, you can always rent an umbrella and sun loungers, but it's not cheap.

5. Pevero Beach or Spiaggia del Pevero

There are two beaches known as Pevero in Sardinia, located next to each other. The beach of Picolo Pevero and the beach of Great Pevero. As its name suggests, on the beach of Picolo Pevero, you will have more difficulties to find a place if you do not get up early. The water of both beaches is very nice, very clear and covers very little so it is ideal to go with small children.

The only negative point is that it is quite well known and tends to fill up very early, which is not helped by the amount of umbrellas y loungers that invade a large part of the arena, although in this case they have a more reasonable price than other beaches in the area.

6. Liscia Ruja Beach

The longest of the beaches of the emerald coast, it is part of the so-called long beach. In recent years, the Liscia Ruja beach It has become very fashionable which has raised the prices of the services offered. The atmosphere is very select, reminiscent of the typical beach of Ibiza with  beach clubs.

Parking near Liscia Ruja beach is difficult. Most people opt to leave their car at the parking which will cost you an average of 2,5€/hour. It is very frequented by people lodged in Porto Cervo as it is the largest and closest beach to the town.
