The best beaches in Corralejo

The northern part of Fuerteventura is surrounded by some of the wildest beaches of the island. The area of Corralejo Dunes Natural Park has 9km of breathtaking beaches bordering the dunes, known as the Great beaches of Corralejo. They are immense beaches of fine sand, turquoise waters and spectacular views of Lanzarote and the island of Lobos. For the more adventurous, there are some excursions that allow you to see the area and at the same time enjoy an adventure. driving a buggy through the dunes.

Moro Beach

This small beach is located south of the large beaches of Corralejo, following the FV-104 road that you take to go to see the dunes. It is a spectacular spot of crystal clear waters y white sand with the island of Lobos that can be seen in the background. This beach is a bit sheltered from the wind (as much as you can be in Fuerteventura) but still perfect for water sports. In fact we were entertained watching a guy doing some water sports windsurf.

Long Beach

Long Beach also known as Playa Grande is a favorite among visitors and locals alike for its extensive sandy beach that stretches for several kilometers. If you are looking for a beautiful beach with all the amenities and also without taking the car to get out of Corralejo, the Verilitos beach is your site. It is a urban beach where the golden sand stretches under the sun inviting everyone to enjoy a day of swimming, sun and surf.

It is one of the busiest beaches Corralejo, for its good accessibility and location, surrounded by bars and restaurants that provide easy access to a beer without having to go far from the beach. Keep in mind that the beach changes a lot at low tide and high tide, since it is not very big, the difference is quite noticeable. It also has quite a few rocks on the shore that can be seen when the tide goes out, so be careful!

Its waters are quite calm for Fuerteventura, which makes it perfect for the families with children. It also allows snorkeling.

Moving a bit out of the area of the Great Beaches of Corralejo, another beach we visited has recently become famous on Instagram although it is not yet very crowded. These stones are called rhodoliths and they are actually white algae fossils. It is not the best beach to lie down and spend the day but it is very curious to see.
