Best Hotels in Monforte de Lemos
Monforte de Lemos has one of the best hotel offers in the area and no wonder. It is close to most of the tourist attractions of Ourense and Lugo, which makes it a perfect location to stay overnight without having to drive many hours to reach the viewpoints of the Sil river, the Miño river, the area of the monasteries or the wineries of the Ribeira Sacra.
We know the area since we have been there several times on vacation, so in this post we will tell you which hotels we liked the most.
1. Parador of Monforte de Lemos
We speak from our most recent experience, as we stayed at the parador for three nights very recently and we really loved it. It was like a trip back in time, as the building is set in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and has a central courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere while drinking a good local wine.
In addition, the parador's restaurant is one of the best in the area. They have a very good menu that even the inhabitants of Monforte themselves sign up to try. We went with breakfast included and it was amazing, it had been a long time since we had seen fresh orange juice or such a good selection of homemade cakes in a hotel.
The facilities are super complete with gym and a very nice pool with sun loungers and umbrellas. Best of all, you don't need a towel as they provide them at reception. There is also a small jacuzzi, very comforting after a day of long walks. All services are included in the price, although you must book them in advance at reception.

2. Ribeira Sacra Hotel
Another of the best places to stay in Monforte de Lemos is the Ribeira Sacra Hotel. It is located in the center of the city which makes it a perfect option for dining out in the evenings at nearby restaurants. The building maintains a more classic look, typical of the Galician area and is located a few minutes from the Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Vieja, the old town or the tourist office. In addition to this, there is ample public parking nearby, although there is also a paid parking option available.
In the hotel itself they provide you with tourist information and the possibility to book the famous catamaran trips on the Sil or Miño rivers, visits to the wine cellars and many other activities. They usually charge an extra for managing the excursions so we recommend you to book directly with Civitatis. We leave below two of the links to the excursions we use ourselves.

3. Cardinal Hotel
The Cardenal Hotel is located next to the river promenade that crosses Monforte de Lemos. In a very nice area and very close to the city center, a few steps from stores, restaurants and bars. If you choose this hotel you will be right next to most of the tourist attractions, as you cross the river and enter the old part of Monforte.
We recommend that you visit the river walk and take a moment to contemplate the family of ducks that live there. You are sure to find them quickly.
Otherwise, the hotel has all the amenities of a four-star hotel, paid parking for €10/day and a very good buffet breakfast.
Hotel Cardenal in Monforte de Lemos ⭐⭐⭐⭐

- Near the city center: 7 minutes on foot
4. Condes de Lemos Hotel
If you are looking for a more economical option you can opt for the Condes de Lemos hotel. It is located right next to the city's train station and more than 20 minutes walk from the center.
- There is no private parking but parking around the hotel is very easy.
- Breakfast is not included in the standard rate, although a rich and abundant breakfast can be hired for only 3.5€/day.
- The rooms are quite spacious and have all the basic amenities, although the furniture is somewhat older than the rest of the hotels we have told you about.
- If you are traveling with children, they will provide you with a travel crib without any problem.
It is a good choice if you are looking to spend your vacations in Monforte de Lemos at a reduced price.

5. Hotels near Monforte de Lemos - Casa Reboiro
Located in Bergazos, about 5km from Monforte de Lemos, we leave this option for those who are looking for hotels in the surroundings of Monforte that allow you to be further away from the city center to connect with nature and the countryside.
It is your ideal choice if you plan to walk or cycle in the surroundings and you don't mind being very close to bars and restaurants. The hotel has free parking, swimming pool and a huge garden for free use by guests.
